I recently watched two vampire movies from 1972. The infamous movie posters (shown below) were the inspiration for my 1972-vampire-movie marathon. “Vampire Circus” takes place in an old European town during the time of the plague. The circus of gypsies have an ulterior motive for their presence. I was a bit perplexed by the vampires shape shifting into so many non-traditional forms, such as a black panther. In “Dracula A.D. 1972, hippies in London resurrect the undead. While I enjoyed seeing the very authentic culture of the early seventies, the dated soundtrack in this film removes any anxiety that may have been built by the storyline. If you are a vampire enthusiast, both movies are fun to watch.
